Quote: Marcus Brigstocke rants about religion. Not for the faint-hearted! Audio from 'The Now Show', Radio 4, Saturday 21 July 2007. Pictures compiled and sequenced by Alien8ted.
Funny and thoughtful letter to the 'desert dogmas'. What do you think?

So do Jews and Christians have a history of 'smashing things and blowing themselves up'? I have to admit that he has a real talent for alliteration, though. And pretty funny in spots.

Pretty funny. __________________

I saw a very interesting interview today. It was Sam Harris on the OReilly factor back in 04, promoting his book. Something pretty noteworthy he presented was that we can't equate the end or desired results of extremism from faith to faith but that they all stem from the same place. So while Jews and Christians don't do suicide missions, we can't afford to ignore the similar roots and moderates who are supposed to be doing no harm are actually enabling the fanatics to do the worst possible things. Fascinating stuff, at least to a skeptic. __________________
