Quote: Dozens of German politicians have tabled a new law to extend voting rights to babies, toddlers, children and teenagers.
Come on, surely they aren't that stupid. It's got to be a joke right? __________________Lucas McCain the Rifleman: A man doesn't run from a fight, Mark...but that doesn't mean you should go running *to* one, either.

To Tim: maybe they should have an age of accountability. They can make hard informed choices when they're about 7 right?
To you preach: Thats a great argument against total democracy and why an absolute never works. __________________But the backdrops peel and the sets give way and the cast get eaten by the play, there's a murderer at the matinee, there are dead men in the aisles

I even doubted if the article was real, but it's on the Telegraph UK website.
And the real world is full of arguments against a total democracy. __________________1 TIMOTHY 1

I think what we need for any form of government to work now is an informed public with a presence at the 'decision table'. I don't want anyone speaking for me, imbecile or politician. I can speak for myself. __________________But the backdrops peel and the sets give way and the cast get eaten by the play, there's a murderer at the matinee, there are dead men in the aisles

I think most of the population is too apathetic or too ill-informed to cast a quality vote. I also think that condition has been cultivated by those in power for at least 40 years now.
But then again , I'm a cynic. __________________1 TIMOTHY 1

Exactly the problem. __________________But the backdrops peel and the sets give way and the cast get eaten by the play, there's a murderer at the matinee, there are dead men in the aisles

So how do you fix it? Can you fix it? It's easy to say 'revolution', but you need a certain percentage of public support for that to be viable, and most of the time, what comes out of a revolution is worse than what you started with. __________________1 TIMOTHY 1

I'd never say revolution except as a very last resort.
How do we make concern and education infectious to the general public without that becoming a new problem? __________________But the backdrops peel and the sets give way and the cast get eaten by the play, there's a murderer at the matinee, there are dead men in the aisles

I have no idea, we can't even make it infectious to some of the contributors to this site! __________________1 TIMOTHY 1

Guys, I think the point we can learn from this is to never ever listen to people from Europe on political matters. __________________Lucas McCain the Rifleman: A man doesn't run from a fight, Mark...but that doesn't mean you should go running *to* one, either.
