Huckabee moves to second place nationally.

This is after Iowa polls after him surging well above the other candidates with a percentage over 50 percent according to a fox report this weekend.

Personally I can't see the republican party making Guiliani the nominee. It goes against everything the party is supposed to stand for. Huckabee or Thompson have always been the logical choices. At this point Huckabee seems to be heading toward the winner's circle.

I hate to break this to you Tim, but the Republican Party doesnt stand for much of anyhting anymore. I still have my doubts about Huckabee, but my guy will never make it in.

Well you know we should pray we get good leaders and maybe we will.

Now Huckabee is within a couple of points. A statistical tie.

Until now, most national polls have shown Giuliani with a measurable if declining hold on first place. Both the CNN and CBS News-New York Times polls have him and Huckabee essentially tied for the No. 1 spot nationally.

It's always interesting to me how many people will get behind someone (it could be a politician or even a football team)once it looks like they might win. I'm not sure if people just like to back a winner or if they are so devoid of original thought that they let the momentum of the crowd do their thinking for them.

Probably both. I've been for Fred Thompson primarily, but I'll take Huckabee way over the other guys. Guiliani has been like last on my list of republicans for a while.
