My take is that the confederate flag represents an ancient war, the General Lee the most awesome car in the world, old episodes of the Beverly Hillbillies, and yes sometimes racists have been known to fly them, but I'm not about to let a bunch of goober racists or extreme liberals take away my right to dream of owning the General Lee someday in all of it's confederate glory. It's just silly. A lot of the guys who fought in the south never owned a slave back then. They were too poor. So we do have to keep history in perspective. The Civil War wasn't just about slavery. There's been too much history with the Confederate flag being used for fun loving things to always lump into something bad automatically.
Treat everybody fair. I'm all for that, but let's not get silly with equal rights and start attacking ancient symbols of the south. Attack Nazi flags if you want, but leave the south alone brother, cause there ain't even one redeeming quality about Nazis. At least rebellion does have it's finer points. It's what created America in the first place. It started rock and roll which was good when Elvis was still singing. __________________Lucas McCain the Rifleman: A man doesn't run from a fight, Mark...but that doesn't mean you should go running *to* one, either.
