Political Discussion / Politics / President / Hillary on Vouchers

Here Hillary uses extreme circumstances to push against school vouchers for kids.

To make her argument she's basically admitting that the federal government has no common sense or even the ability to use rational thinking. Her point being we can't give vouchers to regular main stream private schools if we can't give vouchers to hate group schools etc. It's obvious to make vouchers work you have to set limits on who get's it. It's just a matter of whether or not the government can actually use any form of common sense.

If the government can make a law forcing kids to go to school in the first place, to be fair it has to give parents a choice in where they send their kids. If I want my kid to learn creatism in science class vs evolution, then why do I have to pay more than those that send their kids to public schools? The government in effect is respecting the establishment of atheism.

I know right... I have a private jet and NEVER use any public roads.  Can I get a private jet voucher?  I really need it to take my kids to school.

Only one problem with that analogy, the government doesn't provide public jets for everyone otherwise I'd say yes. I'm sure a public jet would be filled with drugs, lazy pilots like lazy teachers (note:I know not all teachers are lazy the bad ones can't get fired though thanks to the unions), and nobody would be allowed to talk about creation or place any religious plaques just like our public schools.

PS. I didn't know you had a private jet.

Not true.  We subsidize roads and oil companies with our tax dollars.  So I insist that I want a private jet voucher.  Please comply.

You can use the road then. Ask for a voucher for all the road tolls you have to pay.

Yeah.  Toll roads in Florida.  I'd have to think about that one.  My initial reaction is that they are great, because they are almost always empty, but they are also exclusive and therefore basically un-American.  But good point.
